Blood-Sugar Herbs & Medication: What To Check With Your Doctor First
Five of Glyco Defender's eight ingredients carry a medication or caffeine note.
If you take diabetes, blood pressure or blood-thinning medication, read this before your first dose.
Why these ingredients matter for medication
Glyco Defender names Gymnema sylvestre, Chromium and Ginseng. All three have been studied for effects on blood glucose. That is the point of including them, and it is also why they matter if you already take something that lowers blood sugar.
Blood pressure and blood thinners
Coleus forskohlii may lower blood pressure, and both Coleus and Ginseng have noted interactions with blood-thinning medication such as warfarin. Mention both to a pharmacist if either applies to you.
Caffeine from Guarana
Guarana is a natural caffeine source. The amount is unpublished, so people who are sensitive to caffeine or pregnant should not assume it is negligible.
